Looking back in time and remembering my younger self who out of a passion for the things of the Lord would fidget about standing before another to preach the gospel. There was a willing heart and a burning passion, however, I lacked one important factor that would empower me, PRAYER.
As the disciples followed Jesus and observed the result following his ministry; sick healed, dead raised and many miraculous acts, they simply did not ask him how to preach but they did ask Him how to PRAY. Time must be spent daily in the Word of God and prayer. Jesus spent many hours doing this before he went to the people to minister and was always successful. You, too, can have the same success.
The key to effective soul-winning comes through the Holy Spirit. To activate this, a believer ought to spend time in intercessory prayer and meditation of God’s word. In doing this effectively, you will receive precision while being guided by the Holy Spirit: You will not do this on your own, it is you and the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit will fill your heart and mouth with words that are as piercing as a sword and calming as a breeze, Psalms 81:10. This is how you also receive boldness. The Bible says to take no thought of how or
what thing you will answer or what you will say because the Holy Spirit will teach you in the same hour what you should say.
Acts 1:8 states, “But you will receive power, after that the Holy Ghost
comes upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me.” As you acquire a
thorough knowledge of God’s Word, then your helper and teacher, the Holy
Spirit, will bring all things to your remembrance when you need them.
No one is exempted from soul winning, as believers, we must make personal preparation for soul winning, hence, this is time to PRAY and PREPARE.
Soul winning is important because it is the heartbeat of God. The scripture records in Luke 15:10 that heaven erupts with joy when a sinner repents. That is to show how significant soul winning is to God.
Jesus has given you the command to preach the gospel. Spread the word of God in your campus, office, community, and every other place that you find yourself.
